The Lumenok adds between 12 and 18 grains of weight to your arrow depending upon the model of Lumenok that you use. The Lumenok will work with any aluminum or carbon arrow that use standard ICS components such as Gold Tip, PSE Radial X Weave, Carbon Tech, Victory, Carbon Impact, Carbon Express, Easton and Beman. For small diameter carbons from Trophy Ridge and Easton, the Lumenok-X is available. Easton Epic arrows use the Lumenok-H. The Lumenok comes on when shot from your bow and stays on until you turn it off. The Lumenok is the brightest and easiest to use lighted arrow nock on the market, we guarantee it!
The Lumenok adds only a few grains to the weight of the archer's nock, depending upon model selected. Little effect to arrow flight is detectable.
Self Contained
The Lumenok requires no magnets, no glue; it contains no switch or any other moving parts. There is nothing to attach to your bow, or glue into your arrow to make it work.
Easy To Use
Just remove the original nocks from your arrows and insert the Lumenok. When the nock is fully seated against the electrically conductive end of the carbon or aluminum arrow shaft, the Lumenok lights. Wiggling the nock back and forth in the shaft breaks electrical contact between the arrow shaft and the Lumenok, causing the light to go off. At this point the archer can put the Lumenok equipped arrow in his quiver and forget about it. It will automatically be activated upon release of the arrow when shot,
Allowing the archer to more easily follow the flight of his arrow. The Lumenok will remain lit for up to 40 hours or until retrieved and is turned off by wiggling it back and forth. These nocks will operate hundreds of times.
Useful in many ways
The archer can take advantage of the Lumenoks high visibility to help in tuning his equipment. Small variations in arrow flight are easily detected because it is easier to see you arrows flight. In the field, a hunter can see where his hard earned shot hits. In case the archer misses his shot, he can go directly to the arrow.
FAQS
Will the Lumenok work in my arrows? The Lumenok is made to fit into Standard ICS arrows including most popular sizes of carbon arrows and aluminum arrows that accep Easton Super-uni nocks, Bohning signature nocks, Carbon Express TCX nocks, PSE Super Carbon nocks, Gold tip nocks, and others. Some models of Lumenoks also fit in arrows that accept H-I-T components.
How do Lumenoks work?
Just remove the original nocks from your arrows and insert the Lumenok. When the nock is fully seated against the electrically conductive end of the carbon or aluminum arrow shaft, the Lumenok lights. Wiggling the nock back and forth in the shaft breaks electrical contact between the arrow shaft and the Lumenok, causing the light to go off. At this point the archer can put the Lumenok equipped arrow in his quiver and forget about it. It will automatically be activated upon release of the arrow when shot, allowing the archer to more easily follow the flight of his arrow. The Lumenok will remain lit for up to 40 hours or until retrieved and is turned off by wiggling it back and forth.
Are there different colors?
No, Lumenoks are made using a red light because that is the brightest, most visible and efficient type available. This assures the longest battery life possible, allowing up to 40 hours of continuous operation.
Why won’t my Lumenok work? All arrows are not created equally. Proper operation of the Lumenok requires the end of both carbon and aluminum shafts be clean and free of non conductive materials. Resins and glues from the manufacturing processes of some carbon shafts require that the shaft be prepared prior to Lumenok use. Rotate the end of the shaft against a piece of emery cloth or sandpaper until a black residue is evident. Swaged aluminum shafts may have anodized coatings on the nock end that can be removed in the same manner.
100 % carbon arrows are the best for use with Lumenoks. Carbon composite or carbon wrapped shafts contain some percentage of fiberglass which acts as an insulator and inhibits conductivity at the end of the shaft. These shafts provide marginal conductivity and Lumenoks may not work in them.
How can I test my Lumenok?
The Lumenok should be tested outside the arrow. The Standard ICS Lumenok has 2 metal contacts at the point where the nock shank and body meet. These contacts are arranged opposite one another and by touching them simultaneously with a paper clip or other conductive material you can perform a test. When the contacts are connected via any conductor the Lumenok should light.
The Lumenok –X has 1 contact at the shoulder of the nock. The other contact is the outside shell of the battery. Use a conductive material to touch the battery and the contact at the same time to perform the test. If your Lumenoks test OK then look to the arrow for a problem as described above.
How much does the Lumenok weigh?
Lumenoks built beginning in 2003 weighed about 31 grains total. Depending what type of nock you are replacing they will add between 15 and 22 grains to the weight of your arrow.
The current Lumenoks will weigh a total of about 28 grains. The weight that is added to your arrow is between 12 and 18 grains, depending what nock you currently shoot. The total weight of the components added is 15 grains.
We have of customers ask for lighted arrow nocks such as lumenock, lume nock, luminock, illuminock or other light up arrow nocks. Yes, we do use Lumenocks, just watch the video on our home page to see them in action. It shows them being used on 3 exciting hunts! It is awesome!!
